Airlines cancel 2,381 flights amid Northeast snow

Airlines have canceled another 2,381 flights on Wednesday amid a large northeast snow storm, according to the website FlightAware.com.

The cancelations bring the total number of flights that have been wiped out this week to 8,520, the website said.

{mosads}The cancelations were joined by another 2,827 flights that were delayed on Wednesday, and 45,099 for the week.

The leading airport for cancelations on Wednesday is Newark, N.J.’s Liberty International Airport, which had 264 outgoing flights and 213 incoming planes canceled.

Newark Airport had 643 outgoing and 660 inbound flights canceled for the week.

The New York and New Jersey areas were hit with about eight inches of snow on Monday and the area received another approximately five inches on Wednesday.
