American Airlines offers buyouts

American Airlines is offering $40,000 buyouts to flight attendants who have been with the company more than 15 years, the Dallas Morning News reports.

The Fort Worth, Texas-based airline is offering the buyouts as its merges its operations with US Airways.

{mosads}US Airways has offered a similar buyout program to its flight attendants, according to the report.

The buyout were part of a contract that was negotiated with the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, the paper said.
