NTSB investigating Southwest flight landing at wrong airport

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating a landing at the wrong airport by a Southwest Airlines flight over the weekend, the agency announced on Monday.

The flight, which was flying from Chicago’s Midway Airport, was supposed to arrive at the Branson, Mo. airport. But instead, it touched down at the nearby Taney County airport.

The airports are about seven miles apart from each other.

The NTSB tweeted on Monday that it is investigating the cause of the error. 

“NTSB is investigating an incident involving Southwest Flight #4013 that landed at wrong airport in Hollister, MO yesterday,” the agency said.
