Airports Council taps new CEO

Airports Council International–North America (ACI-NA) has appointed a new CEO, the agency announced on Monday.

The airport advocacy group said it was appointing Kevin Burke of the the American Apparel and Footwear Association to lead its efforts in Washington, D.C.

Burke comes to the airports council after 13 years at the footwear association.

The airports council said Burke would be able to handle the transition to transportation issues seamlessly.

Reis said in a statement. “In Kevin, the Search Committee unanimously found a person who can not only build on ACI-NA’s long history of success, but could also help chart a path for an even brighter future.”

Burke has additionally worked for the Food Distributors International, the American Bakers Association, and the National Association of Broadcasters during his tenure in Washington.

He is taking over the airports council for the association’s interim president Deborah McElroy.

The group said McElroy would return to her normal position of vice president.
