Freight transportation panel to deliver recommendations
A panel that was created by lawmakers to issue recommendations about improving the U.S. freight transportation system is expected to deliver its findings on Tuesday.
The House Special Panel on 21st Century Freight Transportation, which was created earlier this year by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, will hold a news conference on Tuesday to brief lawmakers on their suggestions for boosting freight transportation, according to officials with the committee.
{mosads}The freight panel is chaired by Rep. John J. Duncan, Jr. (R-Tenn.), who is expected to appear Tuesday alongside full Transportation Committee Chairman Rep. Bill Shuster (R-Pa.) and the top ranking Democrat on transportation issues in the House, Rep. Nick Rahall (D-W. Va.).
The press conference will take place in the Rayburn House Office Building on Tuesday morning.
