Glickman stepping down from MPAA

“This is a powerful medium that can help make a difference, and I will always value my time here,” Glickman said in a statement. “For me, perhaps the best thing about the job was the movies. I love movies. And as far as I am concerned, we make the best movies in the world.”
 
{mosads}Pisano has been with MPAA since 2005. Before coming to the trade association, he was national executive director and chief executive officer of the Screen Actors Guild and has also worked at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) as well as Paramount Pictures.
 
Heading up MPAA is one of the more coveted jobs on K Street.
 
MPAA is one of the bigger associations in Washington. It spent more than $1.8 million on lobbying in 2009, including on contracts with outside firms like Van Scoyoc Associates and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, according to lobbying disclosure records. Also, representing the glitz and glamour of Hollywood carries some prestige.
