Houston mayor doesn’t want ‘love dolls brothel’ in city

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner (D) is pushing back against efforts to open a “sex robot brothel” which is rumored to be setting up in the city and would be the first in America. 

“It’s not the sort of business that we advertise for, or we seek to attract,” Turner said Thursday, according to USA Today. “Or quite frankly, from my point of view, the sort of business that I want in the city of Houston.”

KinkySdollS, a Toronto-based “love dolls brothel,” is planning to open a location in Turner’s city in early October, according to the brothel’s owner. 

{mosads}The paper reports that Turner is looking into existing ordinances that could stop KinkySdollS from opening or at the least regulate the business. 

“Look, I’m not trying to be the moral police, but I am charged with the health and safety of the people in our city,” Turner said, according to the paper.

“And I do want to make sure that an ordinance that came into existence in the 1990s is applicable to things that are taking place today,” he added. “Just like with other sexual-oriented businesses, you can’t be close to day cares, schools, churches, synagogues, things of that nature.”

A medical report earlier this year stressed that there is no evidence that it is healthy to have sex with dolls, though KinkySdollS and similar business purport that is the case.

There have been some national efforts to limit the industry, such as the Curbing Realistic Exploitative Electronic Pedophilic Robots (Creeper) Act that passed the House in June this year and would prevent doll brothels from selling sex with robots that look like children.
