NBCUniversal is adding lobbyist and former Senate aide Mitch Rose as its new president of government affairs, the company announced on Friday.
Rose will be based in Comcast NBCUniversal’s Washington office and report to David Cohen and Kim Harris — top executives at Comcast and NBUCUniversal.
{mosads}“Mitch’s extensive background working in the private and public sectors for members of Congress, in the media and broadcast industry, and as a valued consultant has demonstrated his deft handling of important issues and strong understanding of the subjects, both domestic and international, that we face,” Comcast executive vice president David Cohen said in a statement.
“His deep knowledge of the legislative process and industry experience along with his exceptional relationships on Capitol Hill and across Washington brings Comcast and NBCUniversal the perfect combination of skills.”
Before starting his own consulting firm, Rose led government relations for Walt Disney and worked for more than 15 years on Capitol Hill.
At Mitch Rose Strategic Consulting, Rose lobbied on behalf of Comcast as well as the National Cable and Telecommunications Association, Cox, the Recording Industry Association of America and other organizations.
He previously worked as chief of staff to the late Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) and as a press aide to former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole (R-Kan.), among other roles on Capitol Hill.
