Dingell: Who needs an Apple Watch?
Apple’s new watch device may have fans of the tech icon giddy, but don’t count Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.) among them.
“I’ve gotten pretty good life out of my Casio watch, to be honest,” he tweeted on Tuesday, as the Cupertino, Calif., tech giant was rolling out its newest device.
{mosads}“It tells me the time and even beeps on the hour. What more could you need?”
Despite his status as the longest-serving member of Congress, Dingell, 88, has an active Twitter feed where he often pokes fun at popular culture.
He made waves earlier this summer, for instance, by asking Twitter what “a Kardashian is,” after an Environmental Protection Agency staffer accidentally tweeted about the celebrity.
The new Apple Watch is Apple’s first foray in the realm of wearable technology and could indicate a new market for the sector, which tech analysts have long been eyeing.
