PR veteran ‘joins the flock’ at Twitter

In the tweet, he gave a shout-out to Colin Crowell, a former senior counsel to the leader of the Federal Communications Commission and a longtime lead staffer to then-Rep. Ed Markey (D-Mass.). Crowell became the vice president of global public policy at Twitter in 2011.

{mosads}Within minutes of Wexler’s personal announcement, Crowell posted congratulations to his former Hill colleague, “Delighted to welcome Nu @Wexler to @TwitterDC team! #JointheFlock” he wrote.

Wexler most recently worked as the flack for Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), and also held posts in other House and Senate offices and committees.

Twitter announced on Friday it would also step up its political involvement, hiring its first in-house lobbyist and forming a political action committee called Twitter#PAC.
