FCC’s Clyburn announces leadership team

{mosads}Before joining the FCC, Grimaldi was the senior counsel to Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.), the chairwoman’s father, advising him on technology, foreign affairs and financial services issues.

Clyburn also named her team of legal advisers: Louis Peraertz for wireless, international and public safety issues; Rebekah Goodheart for wireline issues; and Sarah Whitesell for media issues.

{mosads}Peraertz has served as an aide to Clyburn since 2009 and was in the Wireless Bureau before that. Goodheart served as deputy director of the Technology Transitions Policy Task Force and as associate chief of the Wireline Bureau. Whitesell previously served as deputy chief of the Media Bureau.

Drema Johnson will serve as a confidential assistant, Dorothy Givens-Terry as a special assistant and Carol Lott and DeeAnn Smith will serve as staff assistants.

“I am delighted to welcome this group of outstanding professionals and public servants to my office,” Clyburn said in a statement. “Their roles and responsibilities are vital to the Commission’s work as we serve the American people. This is a strong team, and I will rely on their steady counsel, depth of knowledge, and valuable experience in my role as Acting Chairwoman.”

Clyburn will run the agency until the Senate confirms the president’s nominee, Tom Wheeler. The Senate Commerce Committee has yet to schedule a hearing on the pick.
