FBI offering $75K reward for information on Capitol Hill pipe bombs

The FBI is offering a $75,000 reward for information on who may have planted pipe bombs found in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6, the same day a violent riot broke out at the Capitol.

The FBI announced it is upping the reward Thursday, saying it will give the money for “information leading to the location, arrest, and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for placing suspected pipe bombs in Washington, D.C., on January 6.”

The reward was originally set for $50,000.

Both the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are still searching for at least one person who planted the devices, which were found outside the headquarters of the Republican National Committee and Democratic National Committee.

Federal authorities have already arrested and charged dozens of people who were involved in the Capitol mob, which resulted in the deaths of five people, including a Capitol Police officer and one rioter who was fatally shot by law enforcement as she tried to breach the Speaker’s Lobby.
