More voters are backing special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, and a majority now say the probe has “uncovered crimes,” according to a poll released Thursday.
Support for the investigation reached an all-time high, at 57 percent, in the survey conducted by Navigator Research, a left-leaning group. Thirty-six percent of registered said they wanted the investigation shut down.
Fifty-six percent of respondents said Mueller’s probe has uncovered crimes, up from 43 percent who said the same in a June poll.
{mosads}The survey also posed questions to respondents about the severity of different allegations regarding the Trump Organization.
Half of the respondents were asked which criminal allegations, without any mention of the president or his businesses, were the most serious. Out of that group, 55 percent said accepting bribes or favors from foreign governments would be the most serious.
The other half of respondents were asked which criminal allegations they think the Trump Organization might have been involved in. Forty-six percent of that group said violating campaign finance laws, and 44 percent said accepting bribes or favors from foreign governments.
The Navigator poll surveyed 1,116 registered voters from Jan. 28-31.
