The Trump administration is planning to hit Iranian entities with new sanctions amid the White House’s promise to put Tehran “on notice” after its recent ballistic missile test, Reuters reported Thursday.
The new sanctions could come as early as Friday, the report said. They would target about 17 entities over the ballistic missile tests and another eight for terrorist activities.
It was not immediately clear exactly what entities the sanctions would target.
{mosads}President Trump’s national security adviser, Michael Flynn, on Wednesday condemned Iran’s recent ballistic missile test and said the White House was putting Tehran “on notice,” though he did not clarify what that meant at the time.
“The Trump administration condemns such actions by Iran that undermine security, prosperity, and stability throughout and beyond the Middle East and place American lives at risk,” Flynn said during the daily White House press briefing.
“As of today, we are officially putting Iran on notice,” he continued.
