Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said on Sunday that many individuals will join the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) after hearing the terrorist group’s call.

Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, added that she believes “long wolf” terrorist attacks are becoming more normal.

“Either we are going to fight them here or we are going to fight them there,” Feinstein told host John Dickerson on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

“We have to understand that there are lots of people out there who are going to succumb this propaganda and do these kinds of attacks,” she said of last week’s mass shooting in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Feinstein argued on Sunday that ISIS is using social media to maximum effect as a recruitment tool for potential extremists.

“You have a predetermined propaganda effort that someone can get to in a few clicks,” she said of ISIS’s message available online. “It is very sophisticated.”

“This is of great concern to me,” Feinstein added. “This is a constant battle.”

Feinstein also expressed doubt on Sunday over whether the Obama administration’s current strategy against ISIS is winning.

“Whether ‘degrade and destroy’ is working, the jury is still out,” she said.

Five people died after a gunman opened fire on two military facilities in Chattanooga, Tenn. on July 16.

Four Marines died in the initial attack, while a sailor died later.

The FBI identified the gunman as Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez, reportedly a naturalized citizen of Kuwait.

He reportedly died there along with his four Marine victims.

Federal and local officials are now investigating the shooting as an act of domestic terrorism.

Reports emerged last week that Abdulazeez blogged about Islam before launching his attack.
