Spain coronavirus death pace slows again

The pace of coronavirus deaths in Spain reportedly dipped for the fourth day in a row on Monday, with 637 confirmed patient deaths overnight, Reuters reported, citing the Spanish health ministry. 

The Spanish government reported a total of 13,055 deaths from and 135,032 overall cases of the coronavirus. 

Spain’s number of deaths from COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus, has been dropping since the country peaked at 905 deaths last Thursday, according to Reuters. 

Spain has been one of the countries hit hardest by the virus, with the second highest number of total cases and the second highest number of deaths, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University

The U.S. has the most confirmed cases of the virus, with 337,933 cases and 9,653 deaths.

Italy has the third largest number of cases at 135,948, and the most reported deaths from COVID-19 at 15,887 deaths, based on the Johns Hopkins database.

More than 1.2 million people worldwide have been confirmed to have been infected by the virus with more than 70,000 deaths. So far, 270,000 people have recovered from the virus, according to Johns Hopkins.
