A 33-year-old German man has been confirmed as the first person in Germany to be infected with the coronavirus, The Associated Press reported.
The man, who is from the Starnberg area south of Munich, is believed to have been infected by a colleague who was visiting from China for a company training session, Andreas Zapf, the head of Bavaria’s office for health and food safety confirmed, the AP reported.
The man is currently in isolation at a Munich hospital. However, Bavarian officials have confirmed that his condition is good, according to the AP.
Germany is the second European country to confirm cases of coronavirus within its borders, after France confirmed three cases of the virus, the AP reported.
More than 100 people in China have died from the virus, and thousands have been infected.
