British Prime Minister Theresa May has not requested a meeting with President Trump at the Group of 20 (G-20) summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina, later this week, Bloomberg reported Tuesday.

May spokesman James Slack told reporters Tuesday that the two leaders had already spoken multiple times this year.

{mosads}“It’s not something we’ve requested,” the spokesman said. “We’ve met with the president on a number of occasions in recent months.”

While speaking to reporters Tuesday, Trump’s national security adviser John Bolton did not list May as one of the leaders Trump plans to meet with in Argentina.

Although the U.K. and U.S. maintain a close relationship, the two leaders have clashed recently.

On Monday, Trump warned that the Brexit deal May brokered with the European Union might make it harder for the U.K. to strike a trade deal with the U.S.

“Right now as the deal stands she may not, they may not, be able to trade with the U.S. and I don’t think they want that at all. That would be a very big negative for the deal,” Trump told reporters Monday before leaving the White House for campaign rallies in Mississippi.

May’s office pushed back on those comments earlier Tuesday, citing “positive and productive” discussions with the White House.
