Nine Brazilian firefighters dead in cave collapse while training

Nine Brazilian firefighters were killed after a cave in Sao Paulo collapsed during a training exercise, ABC News reported.

The Sao Paulo Military Firemen Department (SPMFD) said the roof of the cave at the Gruta Duas Bocas trail near Altinópolis collapsed while 28 firefighters were training. 

The department said the emergency response began at 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning, according to ABC News. 

Along with the nine dead, several others were injured in the collapse and one firefighter is currently ​​hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.  

The SPMFD said its rescue operation is complete and no more victims were found in the incident, ABC News noted.
