Trump sent photos of his visit to Kim Jong-Un: report

President Trump reportedly sent photos from his recent meeting with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un at the border of North and South Korea at the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) to Kim as a means of encouraging the resumption diplomatic talks between the two countries.

The Associated Press reported Tuesday that officials hand-delivered photographs apparently taken by the White House photographer to Kim Jong Un as a gift from Trump while the Trump administration seeks to resume dialogue related to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and possible relief from U.S. tariffs.

North Korean officials have said talks will likely begin again soon, while offering no timeline for bilateral negotiations with the Trump administration, according to the AP.

President Trump became the first U.S. president in history to set foot in North Korea last month when he crossed into the country at the DMZ during a historic and previously-unannounced visit with Kim Jong Un.

The visit came after two previous summits between the two leaders leading to an initial deal for North Korea to work towards denuclearization before talks stalled after the second summit this year.

South Korea’s president said last month that the administration and North Korea are in talks about another summit with Kim Jong Un that could be planned for later this year.
