Saudi crown prince’s sister to face trial for allegedly ordering attack on craftsman

The sister of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is set to face trial in Paris next month after she was accused of ordering her bodyguard to beat up a craftsman, CNN reports.

Princess Hassa bint Salman was charged in August with theft, complicity with voluntary violence and complicity of sequestration. Her court hearing will take place July 9, according to CNN.

{mosads}Bint Salman, who is reportedly in her 40s, allegedly got angry after the worker took a photo in her expensive Paris apartment on Avenue Foch, CNN reports.

The victim, who was hired to refurbish her apartment, took the photo of a room where the work was going to be done, and the princess allegedly accused him of planning to sell it to the media.

The victim claims that the princess then ordered her bodyguard to beat him up, shouting, “Kill him, the dog, he doesn’t deserve to live,” Sky News reports.

The worker claims he was tied up and punched in the face, according to the reports. He was also forced to kiss the princess’s feet during the hours-long ordeal, and before he left, his tools were reportedly taken away.

Bint Salman’s brother, Mohammed bin Salman, has been the subject of widespread criticism since Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi was killed in the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul in October.

A CIA investigation concluded the crown prince ordered Khashoggi’s assassination, but officials have continued to deny that the crown prince was involved.
