Activists drop plan for larger ‘Trump Baby’ blimp for UK visit due to costs: report

One of the activists behind a large balloon depicting President Trump as an infant says they have decided against raising funds for a larger version of the blimp for Trump’s upcoming visit to the United Kingdom.

The original version of the balloon, which depicts the president as a large, angry baby holding a cellphone, will fly again when Trump arrives in the country in June, the activist told CNN.

{mosads}”The original Trump baby blimp will definitely be back,” Leo Murray said, according to CNN.

“We are looking at other creative interventions we could make,” he continued. “We’d looked into commissioning a bigger balloon, including getting quotes for hot air balloons — but decided against it as it’s so expensive.”

Trump is set to visit the United Kingdom for a state visit, his first to the country as president, and is expected to meet the queen and possibly address British Parliament.

“If he is going to address Parliament … then flying him from Parliament Square again would be perfect,” Murray told CNN. “Trump Baby destroys his fantasy about how the world sees him.”

A spokesman for London Mayor Sadiq Khan indicated to CNN that the blimp would likely receive approval to fly during protests of Trump’s upcoming visit, as it was approved for his working visit to the country last year.

“Any application to fly it on land that the Greater London Authority manage will be judged by the same criteria as last time by GLA officials, the police and the Civil Aviation Authority,” the spokesman said.
