North Korea launches missile test
U.S. Pacific Command detected a North Korean missile launch at 10:40 a.m.Hawaii time on May 28.
The short-range ballistic missile launch occurred near Wonsan Airfield, Pacific Command said in a statement.
The missile was tracked for six minutes and landed in the Sea of Japan.
South Korea’s Yonhap News agency was first to report the launch.
{mosads}A National Security Council spokesman reacted to the launch on Sunday evening, according to a White House pool report.
“The United States government is aware. The president has been briefed,” the official said.
The test is North Korea’s ninth this year.
