Inspector General pick vows to probe State Department contracting

{mosads}Obama tapped Linick last month to fill a role that’s been left unfilled for more than five years. Linick said one of his first challenges would be to assess the damage caused by the lengthy vacancy, including finding out “where there are gaps in oversight.”

Menendez called for the panel to vote on Linick’s nomination on Thursday, setting up a full Senate vote this week before the lengthy August recess.
