Glenn Beck: GOP bill will ‘make healthcare worse’

Conservative commentator Glenn Beck on Friday blasted House Republicans’ bill to repeal and replace ObamaCare, saying it will “make healthcare worse” and likely lead to higher insurance premiums.

“This is not going to fix healthcare,” Beck said on his radio show the day after the House passed the measure. “This is going to make healthcare worse. First, your premiums are not going to come down. Maybe, maybe, in some miracle.”

Beck noted that Republicans rushed their legislation through the House before the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) could analyze it.

“One of the reasons that they passed it so quickly is exactly the same reason [former President Barack] Obama did. They don’t want the CBO score.”

The bill faces an uncertain future in the Senate, where it will need support from all but two Republicans to pass.

President Trump said Thursday that he is “so confident” the American Health Care Act will pass the Senate and “finish off” Obama’s healthcare law.

“Yes, premiums will be coming down,” Trump said at the White House. “Yes, deductibles will be coming down.  But very importantly, it’s a great plan, and ultimately, that’s what it’s all about.”
