70 more people diagnosed with coronavirus on quarantined cruise ship in Japan

Seventy more people were diagnosed with coronavirus on the cruise ship quarantined in Japan, Reuters reported Sunday.

The new cases bring the total number on the ship to 355, which is the most anywhere outside of China, where the virus originated, according to the newswire.

The U.S. said Saturday it will send a chartered flight to Japan to evacuate more than 400 Americans on board the quarantined Diamond Princess.

More than 3,000 passengers are on board the ship that has been quarantined since Feb. 5.

Canada, South Korea, Hong Kong and Italy have also announced flights to bring their citizens homes from the Diamond Princess, according to Reuters.
