Trump health chief on potentially replacing Sessions: ‘I am in my absolute dream job’

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar on Thursday said he was currently in his “dream job” when asked whether he could be on the short list to take over for Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Justice Department.

“I am in my absolute dream job and just loving every minute of it,” Azar said during an interview with ABC News.

The interview came after Azar stood with President Trump to announce a major new action to try to lower prescription drug prices.

A Wall Street Journal report earlier this month floated Azar’s name as a possible candidate to replace the embattled Sessions, who is regularly criticized by Trump.

HHS spokeswoman Caitlin Oakley echoed Azar’s response.

“Secretary Azar has repeatedly said that this is the best job he has ever had and that this is his dream job. He plans to continue serving President Trump as his HHS Secretary,” she said in a statement to The Hill.
