CVS agrees to buy Aetna for $69B: report
CVS will purchase the health-care company Aetna for approximately $69 billion, The New York Times reported on Sunday.
Citing an individual briefed on the subject, the newspaper said that CVS will spend roughly $207 per share.
Part of the payment will be in new CVS stock, while about $145 of each share will be paid in cash.
The Times noted that fears of Amazon’s foray into the pharmaceutical market have pushed the deal forward.
The official announcement may come on Sunday.
