Biden on ObamaCare repeal: ‘Day of shame in Congress’

Former Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday blasted the Republican-controlled House for its passage of GOP legislation to repeal and replace ObamaCare.

Day of shame in Congress. Protections for pre-existing conditions, mental health, maternity care, addiction services — all gone.

The former vice president also expressed hope for “courage to return” to lawmakers once the bill hits the Senate.

House GOP leadership successfully passed the healthcare measure on Thursday by a narrow 217-213 vote.

The outcome was immediately criticized by Democrats and former Democratic officials, who blasted the GOP for voting to end healthcare coverage to millions of people under the Affordable Care Act.
