Koch group to rally against Medicaid expansion
{mosads}Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) has already rejected the healthcare law’s Medicaid expansion, but states can opt in at any time.
The Affordable Care Act expands Medicaid eligibility to 133 percent of the federal poverty line. The federal government initially covers the entire added cost, with the federal share gradually falling to 90 percent.
“Medicaid expansion, a key part of Obamacare in Virginia, will destroy the doctor patient relationship as we know it,” Americans for Prosperity Virginia state director Dave Schwartz said in a statement.
The Medicaid expansion was expected to cover roughly 15 million people before the Supreme Court gave states the ability to opt out.
