GOP blasts Obama with Medicare bankruptcy countdown
Doubling down on Friday, the GOP, in a bid to weaken the president’s credibility on the issue, culled remarks from throughout Obama’s career in which he has called for Medicare reform.
{mosads}”For years, Obama promised Americans he would tackle Medicare reform,” the Republican National Committee stated on its website. “Obama doesn’t have a plan to address Medicare’s fiscal challenges.”
The Obama campaign has noted that the 2010 healthcare law, which Republicans deride for certain cuts to Medicare, will extend the program’s solvency by eight years.
