GOP senator ‘ready to work’ with Obama on healthcare

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) said he is “ready to work” with President Obama to fix the problems of his administration – starting with his healthcare agenda.

“We have seen what happens when the government controls healthcare,” Cassidy declared in a pre-recorded video response.

{mosads}He specifically pointed to rising premiums and the people who “lost the health insurance and the doctors they had and liked” because of new requirements under ObamaCare.

“This is not acceptable,” Cassidy said, giving his first response to the State of the Union since becoming a senator. “I am ready to work with the president and with anyone else to fix our country’s problems.”

Cassidy was sworn in last month after a rough campaign against incumbent Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.).

As a former physician and a member of the Senate Health Committee, he is already promising to be one of the biggest players in healthcare this year.

Cassidy kicked off his career in the upper chamber earlier this month with a pair of bills aimed at rolling back ObamaCare.
