Ebola nurse Kaci Hickox slams Chris Christie’s ‘abundance of politics’

Kaci Hickox, the nurse who fought efforts to force her into quarantine after treating Ebola patients in West Africa, slammed Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) on Sunday for politicizing the issue.

{mosads}Hickox, appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” said Christie wasn’t being honest when he sought to quarantine her over “an abundance of caution.”

“It was really an abundance of politics,” Hickox said. “I think the scientific and medical and public health community agrees with me on that statement.”

A Maine judge on Friday ruled against Gov. Paul LePage’s (R) efforts to quarantine Hickox, and the nurse on Sunday questioned the governor’s statements that “we don’t know what we don’t know about Ebola.”

Hickox said there’s been decades worth of research on the disease. “I hope maybe upon reflection, maybe he’ll change his tune as well,” she said.
