Three lawmakers show up for Ebola hearing

Only three lawmakers put their recess on hold Thursday to attend an emergency hearing to talk about the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, which is already considered the worst in history.

{mosads}Chairman Chris Smith (R-N.J.) and Rep. Karen Bass (Calif.), the ranking Democrat on the eight-member House Foreign Affairs subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights and International Organizations, attended the session before a packed committee room.

Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.), who is not a member of the subcommittee, was also in attendance.

But there were more members of the media and staff aides present than lawmakers for the hearing, where Centers of Disease Control Director Thomas Frieden is testifying.
