Potential VA secretary critical of ObamaCare

The top man reportedly being considering to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs was recently quoted criticizing the administration’s signature healthcare law.

Delos “Toby” Cosgrove, CEO of the Cleveland Clinic, said ObamaCare has led to increased costs for participants.

{mosads}“About three-quarters of [enrollees through ObamaCare] find that their premiums are higher than they had been previously with other insurance,” Cosgrove told Fox News.

He also criticized the Affordable Care Act for leading to smaller provider reimbursements from insurers.

“We know for example that we’re going to get paid less for what we do,” Cosgrove stated. “Hospitals are going to be paid less for what they do. We also know that insurers are paying less for what we do.”

Cosgrove, a heart surgeon and Vietnam War veteran, is reportedly being considered to replace Eric Shinseki, who stepped down last week amid a major scandal over VA healthcare.

Currently Sloan Gibson, who has been Shinseki’s deputy for the past three months, is running the agency until a replacement is found.
