Poll: Faltering GOP Medicare proposal fueling support for Dems’ health law

{mosads}The poll also found that:

• A majority of Americans don’t want the law repealed: Just 42 percent do,  versus 56 percent who’d prefer to either give it a chance to work and make changes as needed (48 percent) or keep it as is (8 percent);

• Defunding the law is even less popular than repeal, with only 39 percent of respondents in favor of that strategy if repeal fails; and

• Voters still trust President Obama (48 percent) rather than congressional Republicans (41 percent) to get healthcare right.

The poll of 800 likely voters was conducted by telephone between May 18-24. It has an expected margin of sampling error of ± 3.5 percent.
