House hearing will scrutinize federal employee health plan
{mosads}The hearing title asks whether the FEHBP is a “good value” for federal workers. A representative from the American Federation of Government Employees will testify.
The event will be held by the Oversight Subcommittee on the Federal Workforce, which is led by second-term Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Texas).
Farenthold recently introduced legislation to encourage the administration to avoid employee furloughs under sequestration.
“Our federal workforce needs to be operating at 100 percent,” Farenthold said in a statement March 6.
“My bill will require the Office of Management and Budget to
submit a plan to Congress that implements the President’s cuts without
harming our civilian employees’ ability to keep pace with their demands
and provide for their families.”
