Conservative group to make 1M robocalls in support of Trump tax plan

The American Action Network (AAN) announced Thursday that it will target 45 congressional districts in 1 million robocalls to promote the new Republican tax plan unveiled this week.

The group, which is allied with House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), will focus on districts in numerous districts in California, Illinois and New York. Other states included in the campaign are Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia and Texas.

“The White House and congressional leaders have a bold plan that puts Americans first by cutting taxes for middle-class families and small businesses. Today, we are calling one million people across the country to make their voices heard and urge their representative to deliver a tax code that is simple, fair, and cuts taxes,” the group’s executive director, Corry Bliss, said in a statement. 

{mosads}“Congress must take this once-in-a-generation opportunity and deliver historic tax reform to bring back America’s middle class, create good-paying jobs at home, and unleash economic prosperity for all.”

The calls will encourage citizens to contact their representative and tell him or her to “keep fighting” for a simplified tax code. 

“These are exactly the changes that are needed to bring back jobs from overseas and keep the economy growing,” the call says, referencing the plan President Trump and congressional Republicans revealed Wednesday.

Trump announced the tax overhaul, which would both lower the corporate tax rate and cut the number of individual tax rates, during a speech in Indiana.
