President Trump said Friday that he will hold a press conference at 4 p.m. on Friday to address reports that Linda McMahon will be leaving the Small Business Administration (SBA), according to a pool report.
Politico reported Friday that McMahon would be leaving her Cabinet position as SBA chief, citing three sources. One source told the news outlet that McMahon, an original member of Trump’s Cabinet, would join fundraising efforts for the president’s 2020 reelection campaign.
{mosads}Politico also reported that she was expected to join Trump this weekend at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
The SBA did not immediately respond to The Hill’s request for comment on McMahon’s reported departure.
Before joining the Trump administration, McMahon co-founded World Wrestling Entertainment and had served as the company’s CEO. She also ran unsuccessfully for a Connecticut Senate seat in 2009.
