Bernie Sanders said he would release his “very boring” tax returns the day after Thursday’s Democratic presidential debate.
Sanders made the comment in response to a question from CNN moderator Wolf Blitzer at the Brooklyn event.
{mosads}“I think we have one that’s coming out tomorrow,” the Vermont senator said. “I don’t want to get anyone excited. They’re very boring tax returns. No big money from speeches, no major investments.
“Unfortunately I remain one of the poorer members of the U.S. Senate,” he said to cheers from the New York crowd.
Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton also called on Sanders as well as the GOP presidential hopefuls to release their tax returns.
“There is a long-standing expectation that everybody running release their tax returns,” the former first lady said, adding that she has released 30 years of returns.
