Hensarling taps House Banking subcommittee chairmen
The House Financial Services Committee on Thursday announced a slate of new subcommittee chairmanship posts, shaking up the high-profile panel in Chairman Jeb Hensarling’s (R-Texas) second term.
Rep. Sean Duffy (R-Wis.) will chair the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigation; Rep. Scott Garrett (R-N.J.) will chair the Subcommittee on Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises; Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-Mo.) will chair the Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance, Hensarling said.
Reps. Bill Huizenga (R-Mich.) will chair the Subcommittee on Monetary Policy and Trade; and Randy Neugebauer (R-Texas) will chair the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit.
“I look forward to working alongside my colleagues to pass laws that help grow the economy from Main Street up, not Washington down,” Hensarling said in a statement. “Our committee will continue to focus on promoting sensible solutions that help create jobs and hold both Washington and Wall Street accountable to the American people.”
Hensarling also announced new Republican members who will join the committee.
Those newly elected members are Reps.-elect Robert Dold (R-Ill.); Frank Guinta (R-N.H.); French Hill (R-Ark.); Mia Love (R-Utah); and Bruce Poliquin (R-Maine).
Reps. David Schweikert (R-Ariz.), Scott Tipton (R-Colo.) and Roger Williams (R-Texas) will also join.
