Fed releases financial crisis-era transcripts
The Federal Reserve on Friday released transcripts of its 2008 meetings that provide a new glimpse into the turmoil of the financial crisis.
The Fed normally releases meeting transcripts five years after they were held, and the 2008 versions were highly anticipated given the wide turmoil taking place in the financial world at the time.
{mosads}That year included the government rescue and takeover of housing giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers and bailout of other Wall Street institutions under the Troubled Asset Relief Program.
