Fortune 500 companies return to cities

Fortune 500 companies, after years of planting themselves in the suburbs, are rushing back to the cities.

According to The Wall Street Journal, around 40 percent of the Fortune 500 are now headquartered in the top 50 cities, with others installing satellite offices in nearby urban areas.

{mosads}The reason corporations are moving back, experts say, is that young workers now want what cities offer — public transit and urban attractions, among them — as opposed to the parking and cheaper real estate that can be found in the suburbs.
