Camp presses IRS over donor lists

“The agency testified that donor lists were destroyed, when in fact those lists are still being retained in IRS files,” Camp said. “I am concerned that donors may have been targeted for further scrutiny. I expect the IRS to get to the bottom of this issue and provide us with credible information that lay these concerns to rest.”

{mosads}Camp’s letter to the IRS comes just two days after the agency announced that the key figure in the controversy, Lois Lerner, was retiring.

Democrats continue to say that, while Lerner and others at the agency were guilty of mismanagement, there is no evidence that the targeting was politically motivated.
