IRS staff changes continue

Heather Maloy, recently tapped as the IRS’s deputy commissioner for services and enforcement, called Schiller a 25-year veteran “with extensive knowledge of exam and management issues” in a recent memo.

{mosads}Schiller takes over the spot once held by Holly Paz, who has been a central figure in the investigation of the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status.

Paz sat in on interviews conducted for a Treasury audit of the targeting, and was named in a lawsuit filed on behalf of some 25 Tea Party groups. A bipartisan group from the House Oversight and Ways and Means committees has also interviewed her, one of five staffers that investigators have sat down with.
