Donations to green groups surge during Trump presidency: report
Donations to almost every major environmental group have increased during President Trump’s time in the Oval Office, according to an Axios analysis.
Between 2015 and 2017, 16 major environmental groups saw donations increase by as much as 149 percent, the news outlet reported Monday, citing tax filings.
Oceana saw the largest growth in donations, increasing from $20 million to $50 million during that time.{mosads}
Earthjustice saw a 51 percent increase, rising from $50 million to $76 million, as Trump rolled back environmental regulations and denied climate science from the White House.
Earthjustice Senior Vice President Sam Sankar attributed the increase to the president’s actions.
“Americans see the damage the Trump administration is doing to our environment and know that we are nearing a point of no return on climate,” Sankar told Axios.
