Heritage to key-vote Keystone bill
Conservative group Heritage Action for America is urging lawmakers to vote “yes” on legislation to authorize construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.
Heritage identified Friday’s House vote on the bill as a key vote that will be used for its legislative scorecard.
{mosads}”For too long, the politics of the left, radical environmentalists, and President Obama and his congressional allies have stood in the way of the pipeline’s construction,” Heritage said in a statement on Wednesday.
“Approval of H.R. 3 would represent a small but notable first step towards creating thousands of jobs for hardworking Americans,” the group added.
Heritage also urged lawmakers to push legislation that would guarantee funding for the controversial Yucca Mountain nuclear waste site, expand oil exports, and repeal the renewable fuel mandate.
The Senate will hold a markup on similar legislation to approve the $8 billion oil sands project on Thursday, and could vote on the bill as early as next week.
