Climate skeptic Inhofe wins reelection

Republican Sen. Jim Inhofe (Okla.) easily defeated Democrat Matt Silverstein on Tuesday, winning a fifth term in the Senate.

The 79-year-old Inhofe was first elected in a 1994 special election.

Inhofe is the author of the “The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future.”

On Monday, he called a new international climate change report “extreme” and said it would “cripple” the global economy.

Inhofe has repeatedly called climate change a “hoax.”

“It comes as no surprise that the International Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) is again advocating for the implementation of extreme climate change regulations that will cripple the global economy and send energy prices skyrocketing,” Inhofe said.

“At a time of economic instability and increased threats to American interests, the IPCC’s report is little more than high hopes from the environmental left.”

Inhofe also has expressed his desire to repeal the healthcare law.
