Democratic Senate candidate slams party on Keystone in ad

Democratic Senate candidate Michelle Nunn slammed her party for opposing the Keystone XL pipeline in a new ad.

Nunn, who is running against Republican David Perdue for the Georgia Senate seat, touted her middle of the road energy chops, calling out Democrats for blocking votes on the controversial pipeline in the Senate.

{mosads}”Too many Democrats play politics by dragging their feet on the Keystone pipeline,” Nunn says in the 30 second ad-buy launched Wednesday.

“While Republicans block renewable energy initiatives that would reduce our long-term dependence on fossil fuels,” she adds.

Republicans have sought to tie Nunn to the liberal Democrats within her party who support the president’s climate agenda.

In a recent SurveyUSA poll Nunn trailed Perdue 47 to 44 percent.
