S. Korean officials say N. Korea may be preparing for another nuclear test

South Korean officials say they have seen signs that North Korea may be preparing for another nuclear weapons test.

CNN reported that Seoul’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) told lawmakers in South Korea that Pyongyang may be readying for another test.

North Korea “has completed its preparation to carry out a nuclear test at Tunnel 2 and Tunnel 3 of the Punggye-ri nuclear test site,” Kim Byung-kee, a lawmaker of South Korea’s ruling Democratic Party (DP), said the NIS told lawmakers.

The annual summer war games, officials told CNN, come at the “worst possible moment.”

Officials said the Americans would be “wholly responsible” for any escalation.

Tensions between the U.S. and North Korea reached a high earlier this month after President Trump intensified his rhetoric against North Korea.
